LOEWE has opened a new standalone store in New York. The store carries the full range of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, bags, small leather goods, soft accessories, shoes, eyewear and jewellery alongside a selection of art pieces from it’s collection.
Opening on 10 December at 79 Greene Street, in the Lower Manhattan district of SoHo, the space will respect the classic architecture of the neighbourhood, restoring much of the original building to its former glory with a focus on natural materials.
The LOEWE store features the work of six artists drawn from the LOEWE collection – a growing anthology of art, craft and design. From painting and sculpture by contemporary artists to handmade objects and furniture, the collection reflects a fluid relationship between art forms. It includes a major hand-painted screen by South African artist Lisa Brice (b. 1968, Cape Town) on the ground floor, the work Hill (2017) by German artist Andrea Bu?ttner (b.1972, Germany) presides over the living room area, and key pieces by previous LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize finalists Jim Patridge & Liz Walmsley (2019 finalists), radical Japanese ceramicist Takuro Kuwata (2018 special mention finalist) and Joe Hogan (2018 finalist).
LOEWE is also available in Manhattan at Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Ave, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
